yeah ive got a 38 waist thats the issue...very tough to find a comfy bucket. i ran a buddy club wide in an old car, but it felt cheap. i do love recaros...i still have to justify caging the car first anyway...

I have the Sparco R505. They are a little too narrow. Not as bad as the Bride Brix. I'm thinking I may be upgrading to the Bride Cuga

im not a big guy, but the upper shoulder support was wide enough that im sure you could fit in them... i felt ready to do some driving sitting in this seat haha

Buddy Club makes 2 versions. I used them, as do a friend of mine who race in NARRA and NASA time trials for a few years. They're not bad seat imo, and priced right for someone on a budget.

For those concerned with certifiacations, FIA certifications are costly and makes things more expensive. If you're not in some professional event that requires FIA approved equipment, then why spend the money. All you need is a good supportive seat. As an example of this, a Racetech 1000 used to cost 650/seat. THey eventually pursued FIA certifications, and the seat is now 750. They didn't change their design. Just added a certification sticker to it. Furthermore, certifications expire after a few years.

Chu I think you should read this

http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/f...s/viewall.html

I mean a non FIA seat is a Direct copy 99% of the time but If in accident do you really want to add a needed risk at that crucial moment?

A FIA approved seat has to undergo testing to be FIA approved. I would just pay for the piece of mind

I personally like Sparco Evos. I find them one of the most comfortable seats I have ever used. Don't find OMP as comfortable but this may depend on your body. Quality of fabric is not as good as Recaro. BTW, Sparco Evos come in different sizes. You need to try which size fits you.

What did you decide on? Anyone know what it takes to mount a set of Recaro Pole Positions in a Evo 9?

I've had good comfortable seating in both the Cobra Imola and the Recaro Pole Position. Both would be more supportive than stock and not too much more painful to take a long trip in.

Most comfortable race seat I have had is a Sparco Evo 2 - I am 6' with 34" waist size. There are models for different waist sizes.

For my body type the Sparco is way more comfortable than either the OMP or Recaro race seats. Recaro quality is better than Sparco. OMP is about the same. But it does depend on body type.

I have spent about 7-10 hours a day on a 7-day event in the Sparcos and couldn't have found a more comfortable seat.
