i currently have a nib perrin pw2 meth kit built by aquamist. i went to have installed shop advised me to sell kit and get a hfs-3 or 4. i also thought of ditching meth and installing gsc2 cams with all supporting hardware. i can afford to buy the hfs but adding up everything for the cams is getting pricey.
question is
do i go ahead with perrin kit against advise
take advise and get hfs-4
take another route and bite the bullet and go witht the cam setup?

honestly man water meth is great and is awesome for added timing. but you really can go e85 for similarity.

looking into the cam goal. yes i feel it is much more labor intensive and ofcourse pricey. it just sounds like you would really enjoy it much more. plus its a bad *** huge potential mod.

Go E85 and go with the cam setup. You will not regret it!

 

well not many e85 stations in nj.

 

If I were doing it, I'd research why the HSF is better than the perrin kit and make my decision based on that. Secondly, meth will augment your other mods, so I'd do it *before* cams. Get it all dialed in so that when you do go with cams, you'll have a better overall setup.

 

personally, i would be happier with no meth, less power, and piece of mind.

 

cams. usually you get huge power gains and even more with supporting mods. i just dont see gainig 70+ hp by going to meth but i could be wrong since i have never used it.

 

I have seen meth/93 make the same power as C16.

The shop may be trying to sell you their kit as they make money on the install and on the sell. Not always will some shops sell you a "better" product because it is better, but because it makes them more money or they are just more familiar with said product. Dont know if thats what they are doing or not, but I have seen it done MANY times...
