So I had one catch can since owning the car and decided after I upgraded to a 2.3L, I'd throw another catch can on to prevent crankcase pressure. Here's my set-up and since putting the second can in, I have collected a total amount of zero residue. Either my car is just that clean, or my install isn't correct.
Catch can 1: Perrin closed can
input side - side of valve cover
output side- air intake
Catch can 2: JMFab with K&N filter
one hose connecting to the stock PCV valve with a 1 way valve leading to the catch can
one hose connecting to the intake manifold (see pic-stolen from evom) with 1 way valve leading to the intake manifold.


Does this look correct? Don't have PS installed on this computer but can create a detailed diagram tonight.

 

i'm on a 2.3 and i'm not running a catch can at all. i have a breather filter since i'm on SD and the line you show going to my valve cover. i have yet to have any problems with crankcase pressure, dipstick blowing out or oil building up on the breather filter and i'm running 32psi on a hta green. you may have got lucky like me.

 

I have an air breather on my valve cover and a catch can bypassing the pcv and the hose your pointing at and I get very very minimal oil on the can, do you drive the car hard every day ?

 

i've drove almost 9k on my 2.3 since the first week of may. it see's boost alot lol
