For those of you who removed the spare from trunk.....

First of all, yes I just decided to remove the spare from my DD. Will I break down in a week? Probably, but I'm increasing my gas mileage, BRO

Anyway, my question is did any of you put something in the space of the spare, so the trunk could still be used? Again, I don't use my trunk, but I still would like to know my options in case I have to transport something big, like a body.

I put a small toolkit and jumper cables in the space. Rarely use my trunk, just occasionally for groceries if I'm getting a lot.

I put some 50lb weights to increase rear-end downforce.

The spare tire was probably more practical, but having less lift in the back is smart.

Thanks for the comments guy.

I found a thread on another evo forum, and it seems like a lot of X guys put styrofoam or bubble wrap in the space to maintain the full trunk.

That comment was more of a joke.

I put three styrofoam blocks and glued them to the particle board to hold it up. works just as well as the spare tire did but weighs less than .25lbs
