Engine question/concern for Gurus and Techs - Please READ!!!!
Went to go pick up a friend today who needed a ride home. Was in a hilly neighborhood. Met up with him and went to turn around. Well I was on a slight hill and reversed back to turn around. As I did this i felt like i was bogging the motor a bit and threw some more revs and as im lettin the clutch out and backing up the hill my engine sputters and basically shut it itself off for a half a second to a second and at the same time as it shut it itself off the oil light flickered on. It did not stay on at all, just flickered for literally the same half a second to a second that the engine died. It also smelled, at least to me, like burnt oil. However the smell was only there for probably 2 to 3 seconds.
As soon as the motor came back on everything seemed fine and she drove back to my friends house and to my house perfectly fine and like how it has been driving before this happened.
My question is, was this caused from the incline causing all my oil in my pan to slosh to the front of the car/ oil pan and the pick up tube wasnt receiving any for that half a second? And my second question is, could this have possibly damaged my bottom end/bearings or engine itself at all?
I talked to my friend who also owns an Evo who is a Tech for Nissan and he told me not to worry, that my engine/ bottom end was fine and that it was caused from the pick up tube not receiving oil/ sucking up air for that short amount of time.
Sorry for this being such a long read but I was freaking out and still am to be honest because i just bought this car and do not want to have to buy a new engine. I had an evo 8 5 years ago and had tons of problems with it and it has caused me to become very paranoid and jaded.
If anyone has advice or opinions or help I would greatly appreciate your response!!!

Running for a few seconds shouldn't damage anything as there will be oil residue on all the bearings to lubricate it at least for a bit
The oil light I believe will come on if you stall. I haven't managed that in a while so I don't know, I know the check engine light comes on for sure and maybe a few others
