Ordered the "Evo Strikes Back" a few days ago after searching for it at a local Best Buy. They had zero in stock, but the guy said he was expecting a shipment in. I asked him how many and he replied "one"! I went ahead and ordered it online with free shipping. Got an email that said it was backordered 'till the 12th so we'll see if they can deliver...

Are the ones they're shipping to Best Buys and Tower Records different versions? I got Vol. 5, the lancer vs impreza at little tokyo. But yesterday i went to best buy and saw a bunch so i bought 2 and my friend got one. I watched one and it doesn't have subtitling, only this bad dubbing.

The one with the bad dubbing is Euro cars vs JDM cars. It also has mountain pass, follow-the-leader races with the Evo Empire. Anyway I was thinking these Best Buy versions are different. I'd rather have the subtitles.

You found Euro Cars vs JDM Cars at Best Buy? This is the one with the M3 and new Integra Type R on the cover right?

As far as I know, the ones at Best Buy are no different.

I'm gonna buy 'em. I'd like to get them for free but the producers have to profit in order to keep them coming.

TO_Lancer: Do you have the address of this place so that I can get door-to-door directions off Mapquest.com?

Also, does this store have the newest Best Motoring Video and how much are they?

Thanks in advance.

if you guys have bad luck finding these at best buy, check out Border Books. Suncoast Videos have em' too. i bought 3 from borders and another from suncoast. I tried at Best Buy but the way they put these "special interest" vid sucks. it's all over the place.

btw, does anyone know why it's $19.99 or even $17.99 in some places but Vivid sells it for $30? quite a markup.

Bestmotoring said they were lowering the prices of their dvds. It might be that or it might be that it's a different version from the japanese one. Still trying to figure that out.

Do the ones you guys got all have dubbing or are there some with subtitles? I also noticed the ones with dubbing have music added during races, which i don't want to hear, i'd rather hear the sound of the drivers talking and engines vrooming.

No. There's a little tokyo in LA. It's around Alameda Ave and 1st Street I think. But yeah, that store on the 3rd floor he's talkign about is where I got my Vol. 5 Lancer vs Impreza.

I'll get the address next time i go there, probably during spring break, i know that's a long time to wait

If I recall, Vol 1 - 4 had the music and dubbing. From Vol 5 - up to the newest one the music is gone and it is mostly subtitles. Actually, on the Drift Bible you have a choice of dubbing or subtitles if I remember correctly.

I think the lower prices only apply to Vo 1 - 4 which are newly remastered and put on DVD instead of VHS.

Vol 9 and it has some good stuff on Evos. Stock, Boss, and Mines.
