good point man!! i totally agree.. why is mitsubishi turning this into such a F**king secret.. its no different than the WRX (as far as marketing goes )

I just had an epiphany... i think mitsubishi thought it would be a great idea to bring the evo over to crush the WRX and satisfy all of us WRC lovers need for AWD. but then they ran into some legal/marketing problems (power train, drive train, FMI, turbo, etc) so now they are trying to keep all there mishaps on the DL, cuz when the EVO comes out, it's gonna be a piece of **** compared to the J spec. why would you advertise your failures.. you wouldnt. you would try and stay in the background, out of the spotlight and hope the **** blows over with minimal damage. i hope im wrong.

Yeah the only problem with the OZ for the wifey is that I have to give up the OZ at the beginning of August and drive her little P.O.S. until we get a new ride (hopefully the EVO) and I hate her car. Life sux when you got to be fair to keep the little lady happy. I just hope that Mitsu realizes the sacrifices that some of us poor lads are making just to own a little piece of greatness(once again hopefully).

 

I'd like to get a red Evo and paint it similar to the WRC cars - red body, with white wheels and white lower trim panels. Doesn't get any sweeter than that!

 

that was another thought i'd had with a red body is doing some white parts like wheels, spoiler, maybe even hood.
who knows.

I have had my maxima since aug of 99. Its been a great car for the buck but is not in any way shape or form even comparible to the kind of performance numbers the evo is suppose to lay down. If your looking for a very fun, luxury/sports sedan that the maxima is a great choice; however, after driving the car to its limits for almost 60,000 miles I NEED a much faster/better handling car. The maxima just doesn't do it for me anymore. For goodness sakes its a FAMILY sedan not a turbocharged rally "bred" AWD race car. The fact that those are you options is actually kind of wierd.

Yeah, I figure that the EVO will be a much more exciting car. However, I have driven the Maxima with the 255HP V6 and 6 speed manual tranny, it was a lot of fun to drive. I liked the luxury aspect of it and will need a family sedan in the future. I prefer the looks ,the AWD, and the mod factors of the EVO. With the wait I am becoming more and more torn. What's a body to do.

 

Yeah, my best friend just got a 2002 6 speed maxima and it is alot of fun to drive and the luxary family angle does make it an appealing buy, and hey you can always use the lancer as the wife/family car

 

that's what the OZ is for. We don't quite have the green for the Maxima and the EVO, unfortunately. Damn the man for not paying me what I am worth (at least in my mind anyway.)

 

You're forgetting 'Thunder Grey'. That will be a color. It's like a deep, dark charcoal.

Umm, do you know Red is one of the most common colors for pulled over cars? Red attracts far more cops then yellow does. Thunder Grey is the way to go.

 

I hate grey.This isn't suppose to be a low profile car AT ALL.I'm pretty sure we will get more then just red as a choice MrAWD.As far as which colors get pulled over more I really don't thnk the color will matter if I go by at triple digit speeds.
