1,000 EVO 8 Recalled

Does anyone know the truth? A friend of my was checking for the TSB for the SES lights, and he ran across two recall notices one for the box last year and another for 1,000 Evos to be recalled. He doesn't work for mits service, he works for another sevice dept. (Toyota?). And I asked him to see what he could find out for me. And he pulled up these two notices. Does anyone know?????

Are you talking about the water on the passenger floor board recall and the corroding harness recalls? They are old news.

It seems there are quite a few TSBs on the Evo &/or Lancer...go here and do a search for all of the things related to the Lancer...most ones that relate to the Evo to have EVOLUTION listed in the description, but I noticed at least one that did not...

No, it wasn't for the corroding or the floor broad, it was an actual recall on the evos recalled and bought back apparently. Info us normal folk couldn't get our hands on unless someone leaked it out.. I was able to read a portion of the info paper, but I was at work and we were really busy so I couldn't finish it. And he had to get back to work, he is going to bring me a copy this coming weekened, so we will see. 1000 of them their has to be someone who knows someone who would have been included if this recall. If the info is ture....

Unless these cars were recalled and repaired before the cars were sold to customers, the recall is very likely going to be for the things I listed above. I have one of the 'very' early release Evos, I have only seen a recall notice for the corroded harness/water on the floor issue. I have been on these boards the whole time we have had Evo's in the US. I have seen no talk of other recalls.

I would be very curious to see what is in this super secret hush hush document you are apparently getting this weekend.

Well I haven't seen him yet, however he knows my Friday is on Monday so hopefully he will stop by in the next couple of days, we will see.
The service people told me the last time I had my car in for SES light that if they can fix the problem here in the next couple of months they were going to recall the ones with the issues (random miss fire), so don't know, If I don't see him I will call and have him fax me a copy, or e-mail it to me, so I post it..
