Paint matching

I am looking to get an AS trunk lid paint matched to go onto my GG. My question is people that have got this done how close does the paint match? Is there anything a shop can do to make it match also perfect or do they just get the paint code and paint it like that?

I had my wing painted tarmac black and they just used a paint code to do it. They said there was some blue flakes etc. that was in included into the "receipt". No matching required they just used the dealer code. Turned out absolutely spot on, even though my car is 7 years old. Looks perfect.

Did not know about that. I'll have to ask shops then. Thanks!

Some shops are better color matching than others... there is a paint supply place off of McDowell and I think 74th behind the bike shop called Scottsdale Paint and Body that mixes paint very well. (and they can put it into a rattle can for you) Graphite Grey is difficult however because of the metalic flake and how it lays depends on gun pressure and the like, so I would recommend blending it into your quarter panels... (not hard to do)

Well the thing is I do not want to spend extra money to have it blended into the quarter panels. I will if it is going to be THAT far off but do not want to really paint anything besides the lid. Thanks for the input.
