Evo IX Seatback Removal

Hello All,

Has anyone had any exp with disassembling the front seat? I want to remove the seatback from the bottom cushion. I need to clean the seat base and don't want to get the whole seat wet if I don't have to. I already took care of the back seat that was easy.

Removing the cover from the foam under it is NOT fun and you will need some previous knowledge, or some EXTREME patients to do so. As far as i found, the backrest doesnt unbolt from the seat bottom. Therefore you cant just seperate them. If i were you, i would wrap the backrest in plastic really well so it doesnt get wet.

got the bottom cushion unbolted from the back/frame, not fun but mostly Philips head and tork bits (a t40 to be exact), I used a mix of 1 part woolite to 4 parts water using a sponge to work in the soap, the key was to use very hot water to get the crusty stuff out of the suede, the NASTY yellow water that was coming out for minutes was very surprising. Reassembly looks pretty easy, all thats needed is alot of slipping and bolting, with 4 tiny strips of 3m double sided tape in 4 spots near the front of the cushion where some one time contact adhesive was used to attach 4 flaps for tauntness
