FF DD Questions
Forigen Object Damage could result for FF kits. Big Bugs, tiny rocks that chip your bumper ect.... I live in utah and the freeways here are known for breaking windshields. so even for ones with a filter it "COULD" still happen.
i love the FF kits but for daily driving in my area its a gamble. if i ever go full race i will definatly have a FF kit
Just my 2 cents

Whats the consensus on Smurfzilla i know we were talking about it in another thread of yours? Keeping it and rebuilding or starting from scratch on a new one?

Yeah I got caught in a few pretty rain storms. I just took it easy (not like its a rally race anyways). I don't know if they were as bad as it seems you get in FL but they were pretty severe.
I decided to keep the Turbo and upgrade it to the 6266. I know it kinda goes against what I was was wanting but there somethings happened that pretty much forced me to keep the setup and just roll with it. The blue car is gone. Never to come back. I'll divulge details as the black car gets underway. I hate to be cryptic but it'll be worth the the wait. Part of the reason I'm keeping the setup is because I'm having one shop do everything. Building the new block, tuning it, putting it together.
Im actually having a "fire" sale shortly. My pretty much brand new QuarterMaster will be up for sale as well as some otger things and some rota wheels that came on the car i got to replace the blue one.
Hopefully in a few weeks i can post whats been happening. Some of you have been PMing me and its killing me not to tell the whole story but i want to post it with the epic fail, decisons and choices i was faced with, and the end result (which I'M not even sure how it will be.
If there is a evom record for perserverance im sure id be in the top 10. e

That is why I think its utterly retarded to have a dump pipe sticking up. You have a 3'' tube just collecting water and shovelling it down to sit against your wastegate. It might not be a huge deal when you are driving around in boost where the flapper is open and blowing hot exhaust gas. If you are out of boost or parked its going to just be pooling water inside your wastegate housing.
All for...what advantage? At least with a FF kit, there is a definite advantage to the air temperature and density. I wouldn't do it for a road racing car, as I get all kinds of random crap kicked up in front of the car, but for a street sweeper or drag car it makes sense.

There is something priceless about a 6" flame coming from the hood at full boost, and the near F1 jet noise when doing runs through tunnels. So damn fun I wouldn't want it any other way.

Its going to take a while but I'll get there.

I'd like to see you shoot some buck shot hail out of that dump tube!
****TY VIDEO... BUT HERE IS MY GETTING STREET TUNED ON PUMP GAS.
FORWARD FACING FP BLACK TWIN SCROLL DIVIDED. 2 DUMPS OUT OF THE HOOD. AND YES I DRIVE IT EVERYWHERE AND I DID GET CAUGHT IN THE RAIN... NOT FLORIDA RAIN THOUGH

...and here is what happens when water DOES get in the dump tubes. Its fun... I DO IT FOR THE KIDS... they love water shows. (no i dont do this purposely)
look at the end of the street...

As for rain, raindrops would have one hell of a journey, through a high speed compressor, into a heated charge pipe, through your intercooler, then up the other charge pipe, and then into a hot manifold and motor. Individual droplets aren't an issue. Before meth injection and alcohol injection were prevalent, we used to run water injection for temp cooling. Same thing, just done by the cheap DSMers.

What about the people that has FF kit w "dump tube facing up" on the hood? What if your driving and started to rain? or parked at the mall and when you get out it's raining? I see a few that DD their Evo w dump tube facing up. What do you giys do to prevent the water from coming in?
