yet another motor oil ?

i know that there are literally hundreds of motor oil threads on this forum and you think that it would help, but it really doesnt...one person says one thing while another disputes it...

heres my current situation...i have an evo 9 and its in the shop getting built up...fully built 2.0 motor built head with a cbrd BBB turbo..i live in central NJ...i see cold winters and hot summers..the car will see anyewhere from 9-13k miles per year...only tracking it will see is 1/4 mile runs ...i will be running 20w50..ive narrowed it down to brad penn, valvoline vr1, and amsoil zrod(im a dealer)...are any of these better than the other...does the vr1 have to be synthetic?...3k mile change intervals

any advice would be appreciated and if you feel the need to bash then go right ahead(whatever you have to do to make your day better..lol) ive been to hell and back with this car so i want to make sure i do what best for her this time

thanks, mat

I guess its just a matter of what you like on this one, the ones you mentioned are pretty good and high in zinc and phosphorus. If you're an Amsoil dealer would you use something else ?

the only reason i mentioned the others are because they are less expensive and i didnt want to waste extra money if i didnt have to...ive used amsoil exclusively for years but this is my first built motor on any car and my first time useing such a high weight oil...i do favor the amsoil over others but upon reading these threads ive seen BP and vr1 mentioned alot so wanted to know if i can get a better or equal oil for less $$(not that the amsoil is killing my pockets or anything) and i can find vr1 locally

vr1 is fine non-synthetic, but it will need to be changed every 1000-1500 miles

easiest solution to this question: ask your engine builder what you should run
