Evo 7
Evo 7
i was talking to a friend lastnight and he asked if i was getting the evo 8 , i replied yes , probably next year around this time. he asked if i would be purchasing a new one , and i told him no because i could not afford it and was hoping to find a used 2003 evo 8. he said well what about the evo 7? i replied that they would be hard to find.... he said they had evo 7s at dealers in the usa and could probably find one used for less money than the evo 8 . but the evo 7 isn't even in the states..... is he stupid or could i actually get a used 7 for less than a used 8 ?
If that were possible I'd probably be driving an E7 GSR right now. The 2003 EVO 8 is the first legal import of this car into the United States so unless your friend knows some really connected grey market dealers I'd have to say this is false.

This general topic has been beaten to death.
The Evo VIII is the first Evo legally sold in the US. Some importers have promised us Evo VII's for a few years now. The federal paperwork required to 'make legal' a car that was never sold in the US dealer network fell on it's face. ie...no legally imported for street use Evo VII's.
I'm going to close this.
