Buying a 2003 Evo 8
Buying a 2003 Evo 8
I'm currently looking into buying a 2003 evo 8 with 80k miles on it. I looked around the forum and couldn't find exactly the answers I was looking for so I thought I'd start a new thread. The only upgrades that the car has is a DSM bov, Volk gramlight wheels, a magnaflow exhaust system, and a Catco Catalytic converter. It seems the seller is pretty legit as he has kept records of all the maintenance performed on the car and has just recently put in a new clutch. I'm planning on putting on a roof rack, and from what I've heard it kills mileage. How much are we talking about? The guy claims to be getting between 16-22 mpg right now, so what can I expect if I put on a roof rack on it? Another concern I have is reliability. He had all the aftermarket parts professionally installed, and did none of it himself. There have been no accidents in car whatsoever, and hasn't broken down once. I need to use this car as my daily driver which would give it about 20-50 miles a day. As long as I perform routine oil changes, is there anything else that I need to worry about? How often will I need to maintain the car to make sure that it is in perfect running condition from day to day?
I don't think anyone on EvoM has any data regarding the loss of MPG due to installing a roof rack on the evo.
