Random acts of vandalism...

Well, tonight in the 20 minutes I was in my parents house (quick stop in visit) some P.O.S. smashed the drivers side rear window out of my car. They got the driver's window in a Toyota down the street too, so I assume it was kid(s) and they were just out causing property damage for kicks.

It just sucks so hard to have spent 4 hours earlier in the day washing, polishing and waxing, to have some little punk pass by your car and pop the window out of it. Besides the window, some of the paint on the door is all gouged as well, so this will be a $500+ repair that I will need to have done.

I guess our EVO's are targets for this crap. I officially feel for anyone who has had their ride f'd with.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Now get back to your lives, and mod you EVO or something!

Sus

i am sorry to hear that bro. my car was broken into so i know how it feels

my advice to you is to get a car cover if you do not have a closed garage. i put my car in the closed garage because i know that some kid will decide to work on his swing with it. the car cover should lower the profile of the car by a bit so maybe that will help out. its funny though because i have 2 BMWs in my house and my EVO is the only one that attracts this sort of stuff.

Weird...I would think a cover would attract vandals. "oooh let's smash the nice car". Or maybe it's too much work? I dunno.

Had a car broken into a few years ago. It's the worst feeling when you walk up to your car and see that. Mine had blood all in the car because the dumbass cut his hand. Good thing I had leather.

you might be right but from my experience, the evo is very attractive to the eye with the wing and the aggressive body lines so a car cover might actually help. a lot of people use car covers including BMW owners, mustang owners and even kia owners which makes it very hard to tell. also, i owned a BMW 540 before and the car wan never even touched while my WRX and EVO has both been through some sort of abuse.

I had mine vandalized after spending 3 full days, washing, polishing, and buffing with Zaino. I've had my car keyed once and tires slashed twice. It doesn't park where I live anymore, and that means my driving is severely limited in it. I'm planning on bringing it back home, but after I get all my surveillance cameras and parts in.

Sorry to hear what happened to your cars. It is true that where ever you live, there are thief, jealous people and vandelizer that are waiting for your car. Expect them whenever you leave your Evo for atleast 30 minutes - 1 day. Being my Evo was just a weekend car, I got my daily driver I used to go to work, mall, theater and store. I only drive my Evo where I can see it park for fun, visit relatives, eat at restaurants and relax at the park. I suggest for you guys to get a daily driver car so you won't have to worry of your Evo being vandalize. Just my .02.

I picked up a 98 Escort within two weeks of ownership of my Evo for my daily driver. I have two nice sized door dings in my passenger door from a car.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I hope they catch the bastards. What sucks is that you were only away from your car for 20 minutes.

I feel your pain !!

My own suggestion would be to get rid of the wing. Since I removed mine, I get zero interest from cops and ricers. (And while I had the wing, I was always getting The Eye from these guys...).

All the best to you, whatever you decide to do.

New Development -

Estimate to replace window and fix the paint on the door...

**drumroll**

$690 !!

I'm so happy these happy children saw to it that I need to buy my new EVO a window and a paint job!

Note to self: Teach children to respect other people's property.

This blows.
