hks rs intake review?

Looking for some unbiased opinions on this intake. Right now im running a turboxs 3 inch intake with kn filter. Wondering if the hks intake is better with the mushroom filter. Just bought one off another member. Really wanted the filter for clearance reasons but the intake looks like a nice piece so happy I purchase it but are there any gains as opposed to other intakes?

There's an entire thread that compares intakes/filters/etc back to back with dyno numbers.

That'd be the thread you're looking for.

I appreciate the link although it doesn't say anything about the intake or filter I was referring to. Thanks

HKS RS is a well designed intake. You can run the mushroom filter (HKS updated the media to filter better) but call up OuterWears, they make a prefilter that really helps the HKS filter keep the rest of the dirt out.

I have the HKS RS after reading reviews, I like it, kinda takes up a lot of room in the bottom right of the engine bay, but to be honest I think I think I had rotated one of the bends a few degrees off.

Well my current filter is 4.5 inch inlet and the k&n filter was so big it was being crushed by the hood and the resevoir on the drivers side. So I decided I needed something slimmer. My question was related to performance. I dont really care about looks. You could strap a turd on top of my intake as long as it was safe and made the car perform better.
