Anyone else with a VIS CF hood? Little problem with mine

I emailed VIS but I'm anxious and wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation. I have the OEM-style VIS CF hood, previous owner had it installed when a deer trashed his OEM hood. Overall I like the hood a lot, it's solid and fits pretty well I think.

However, the other day I was rambling down the highway coming home from work and to make a ****ty day even worse, the grill/mesh in the center of the hood flew off on the highway. It didn't hit anyone else or hit my car, but I didn't even know what flew over my car until I got home. So, what are the chances I can replace that piece? I'm hoping I can, I really don't want to have to source another hood. I already am doing all my brakes and getting new Pilot Super Sports here in a few weeks so my car fund is a bit tapped at the moment.

Any ideas? I know I should just wait for the vendor to email me back but, like I said, I'm anxious and, frankly, a little bored

Todd

I got a new one for my Vis hood, when a chick i was dating Jumped on my hood and bent it.
you can replace it with any Style mesh you desire. Just make sure the bendable hooks under the hood are ok.

Also no joke chick jumped on my hood and bent it up.

ebay has them for about $24 bucks but youll need to paint it.

I have a bunch of empty holes where it used to sit, and two fasteners still in the hood. They look to be brass or something, and have a nut and a large flat spot at the top for what I assume to be a mounting point for the grille. We'll see - thanks for the heads up!

I had the same thing happened. I used my oem piece, but I hd to drill in three additional holes since the bolts do not exactly line up. Took me a whole 15 minutes

I noticed the nuts that hold it in place get loose and I have to tighten a bunch of times. It never flew off my car though.

So far, I have to hand it to VIS. They've been very responsive and have requested pictures and other stuff. No idea how much this is going to cost to fix (I don't have the original OEM one or anything) but they've already exceeded my expectations just in responding to me twice one day after I sent the email to them.
