I know it's you own opinion but I don't see how it's a big deal that the top bracket bolts on... It's not like it make the core any cheaper... From what you said the bracket is still there on the old style it's just welded on?
Old style:

New style:

To someone like it does matter, to others it may not matter but it should be pointed out in case someone is expecting it to be like the old style where you don't have to bolt the bracket on.

If a bracket on top of the intercooler stops you from buying an ETS intercooler, you should sell your evo and go buy a different car. I've had nothing but good customer service and top not products from ETS. They have been and will continue to be my first choice for products. Obviously they are doing something right with all the fastest GTR's in the world running their products......

I pay for my mods, not you.
If a part no longer lives up to expectations then why would I buy it in the future? I like the original design which is why I have the older style. I want my car to have OEM-like fit and finish. It is a perfectly good reason not to run a part.
I have a future build in mind but I know to look elsewhere to meet my expectations. Maybe if you read my first post you would see that I own an ETS intercooler. I never complained about customer service. I have actually sent business to ETS because I had a positive experience with them.
Would you run a part that doesn't meet your expectations? I wouldn't, that is why my Evo is modified to my liking. There is not a single part on the car that is jerry rigged, nor is there a single nut or bolt missing.
What does a GTR have to do with this? ETS also makes parts for older cars too but that is not relevant to the conversation.
