I guess saying that they are identical in dimensions would be a lie but they are pretty damn close. Take a trip to Autozone n find out lol.

To each his own tho

I don't understand the problem with the mini batteries and not starting.

I left mine for almost 9 months without starting. Started first time when I cranked it over. Didn't even change the battery.

Well my thing is, I don't want to pay the money, only for the mini battery to take a **** on me in the middle of AZ summer. I don't have a charge station, and I read you can't jump them. The miata battery sounds legit though haha. Especially since its warranteed. What mini battery's are y'all running, brand wise?

I was in the same situation the other day and I went in the trunk and skipped using mini battery because you will always have it in the back of your head that one day you will go in the car and it wont start. So I went stock in the back and for the price between both is almost the same and might be cheaper either way depending on where you them from.
I ran #2 Welding cables which are the best of the best,20 feet red and 5 feet black should be more than enough to have your battery fully installed. Also put a breaker instead of a fuse on the line so if it gets tripped you can always reset it and find your way back home. Here is how mines looks, nothing fancy and once the OEM battery is dead I will be using a Interstate Mega-Tron II MT-51 Automotive Battery 500 CCA which is a little lighter and still has great cranking power.Good luck!
