How do I remove the carpeting?
Do I just hack and slash at the carpet or is there a cleaner way? Has anyone done this before?

Just curious, why would you want to tear open the carpeting ?

To clarify...

Despite popular belief, I do not wish to "tear open the carpeting." I just want to know if there's a clean way to remove the carpeting all together.
