Where can a guy get a decent 3rd gear pull around here?

I live in Northern VA right by DC and can't for the life of me find a decent, quiet, non-patrol car street to log a pull on. What gives. Share it if you have one guys. I'm trying to tune my new cams.
I mostly like to do mine around DuPont or Logan circle. I feel it brings an element of excitement you can't find on the freeway.
For a serious answer I'd suggest using freeway overpasses. They're typically flat, straight and smooth. The further you go from the district the easier it is to find clear roads.

Have to agree on this one, MD / Washington there's a trooper a mile...
I'd be very cautious in VA/MD area. They will rape you. In VA I remember reading over 100 is considered suicide and if a passenger is in the car it's considered attempted homicide.
I haven't heard those laws but I wouldn't doubt it. Living in norther va is crazy. I live 7 miles from work and might see 3 to 4 cops along the way! They are everywhere! That being said as long as you're not goin crazy you'll be fine. That's why I think tuning like this is asking for trouble. If you get caught doing that 3rd gear pull it'll be bad!!! I definitely understand why people do it themselves though since dyno time is crazy expensive at most shops.

When shops do dyno days its like 75 for 3 pulls usually. I'd say it'll be more if you just pulled up or called to schedule dyno time
Find a nice highway stretch man. Paying dyno time to log third gear pulls,
yea no thanks

I just think it'd be easier and less risky to get it tuned on a dyno at a local shop. I'm going to Moore automotive here soon to get mine tuned. You can have them run it through all the gears and get it dialed in without being worried about a hefty speeding ticket. Just my .02

I learned to tune so I wouldn't get robbed. I wish I could do more mechanical work but that's life. Thing is I understand the work mechs do and can't help but eyeball them prices.
