NO its not. Use Diaqueen (oem) until you read up on what works. hate to be blunt--but it addresses your question and get you down the rd without a huge expense. Lots on this here.

The OEM stuff, Diaqueen, are among the best of drivetrain fluids. Proven over and over again. Aftermarket names that are widely popular are Redline and Amsoil.

The rear diff and tranny you can try other fluids (amsoil and redline cocktail) but the Transfer Case is OEM only. Some may say otherwise but using Diaqueen is guaranteed to work.

If you're asking for your Evo 4, I might suggest checking with the fellows on lancer register as they'll have MUCH more experience.

I can say unequivocally that the Evo 8 and 9 vehicles (the only ones sold in North America for these gens) are EXTREMELY finicky when it comes to drivetrain fluids.

IF you choose to run a fluid other than OEM in any of the cases, understand that there is SIGNIFICANT risk involved. Being that you're driving a grey market import, it would probably be advisable to ONLY run the OEM stuff, because IF you blow up your case... it's going to be tricky to get new parts.
