I voted SE, and of course, I am biased lol. I love my seats, wheels, lip and most importantly I love my 5 spd. I wish It came with the mr bilsteins, but that's nothing a few bucks can't fix. Easier to swap suspension than it is a tranny.

+1 that's exactly what I did. I got the SE and put alone bilstein HD struts on it with the swift spec r springs. By far the best strut/spring setup for the Evo 9.

I went for the SE because it had the looks of the MR but had the 5 speed. The previous owner installed bilsteins so it was even better. Sometimes I wish I went for an RS because of the weight but its crazy not to have power windows.

The RS is aweaome. as a matter of fact its my second favorite version of the Evo 9, the SE being first but in reality there is only a 85lbs, give or take, weight difference between a standard RS and a SE. shedding 85lbs of unnecessary weight isn't as hard as you would think for this car. go to buscherracing.com and they have a break down of certain bits and pieces and parts on the car that are safe to take off, their weight, and how much weight will drop from the car once that part is gone. If I remember correctly they managed to shed over 200lbs from the car by ditching these unnecessary parts. Granted this list as well as the RS itself were designed for racing purposes. I could manage with no radio as well as the roll up windows. But the thing that gets me is no a/c. I live in AZ, it's already triple digit heat and we're not even to June yet so a/c is kind of a big deal. I know there was the "urban jungle" package that added a/c and a radio but I never really saw the point. after that you basically just have a standard white or red GSR with no wing, no trunk liner, and black handles and rear view mirrors. So for my sake I'm glad I went with the SE

The differences to the normal MR:
  • red stitched seats
  • BBSs are the SE color
  • SE lip
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I don't feel like trying to find the original purchase package for this.
