help with timing!!

I just finished my evo 8 head swap on a 2.4l block i have +1mm oversize valves and gsc s2 cams with gsc beehive valve springs retainers and seats, custom wiseco pistons k1 rods and so forth.. Had my machine shop install all my internals and im trying to time my motor now. Everything is on the correct timing marks im using the greddy 63 belt so i know that it has to supposably be retarded by 3.75.. Well 0 degrees AND 3.75 degrees retarded i can get about 1/6th of crank rotation before my valves try touching my pistons. Wtf is going on? Please help, one of my buddies is telling me i need to go waste more money now and have someone degree my cams and measure everything ... Why would i need to do that? My machine shop made sure everything was good they just never timed it i dont see why i meed to waste money on someone measuring my valve lift amd other bs. Any idea why my timing seems to be off so much. And btw i didnt go cranking the crank around i was very gently moving it around and i felt them gently touch and it doesnt go no further obviously. My friend is trying to tell me i cant time it myself im not capiable amd that i already bent valves so im trying to get real help not some kid who thinks he's built 4g63's.
