ahh i miss my evo
hello everyone its been a while since i last posted here..i got rid of my evo about a yr ago it was a white 04 with a few mods nothing crazy let it go with 175xxx miles...i bought a 2011 bmw 535xi and put a jb4 in it which made it hell of a lot quicker...i posted here cause im venting lol all i think about is my old evo i miss the car so much and yes it was my first car lol...ive even been thinking about trading my bimmer for a an 06 evo mr but sometimes i think as if im downgrading from a bimmer to a mitsubishi...dont get me wrong the 535 is a hell of a nice car but nothing drives like an evo..
I had to sell my first evo and I can no longer think of selling my current one unless something dreadful happens. No other car compares, imho. Poor man's supercar.
Cheaper to mod, better to work on yourself, great evo community, not as low class as a honda, platform 4G63 is proven etc. Just so many good things about the car and the price value is going up and stays away from sh*tbag little kids ruining the evo reputation.

I plan to keep mine for a while too. Unless I find a turbo 4 cylinder with the same raw, razor sharpness that is the evo. I've test driven a lot of cars in this price point and none have the steering, braking and throttle response of the evo!

I'm on my 4th EVO... long story short... I enjoy the rice rocket way too much!
I think the strategy for keeping any EVO for long is to make it decently comfy, something that you can live with it everyday.
Not too loud, not too ricey, not too harsh, not too ugly... so I've been careful about the mods this time around like with Zeal CO (not too harsh along w/ corner bal), IX turbo w/ 84mm cover (not too laggy), Wingless (not too much attention), Magnaflow exhaust (not too loud), decent stereo...
Evo has now become my favorite DD over my pos 2011 BMW 135i (too heavy and slow). Of course the drawback is that the EVO is strictly for your pleasure because everyone else (specially girls) think you're driving a loud Lancer...
I guess that's where my bimmer comes in...
I plan to add to my EVO collection before they're all gone...
i too am this way, i feel like selling my evo but, to get a m3 or 335 bc i miss the old luxery that my e36 m3 had, it had GREAT handling and decent power.. BUT, in the long run i know for a fact that i will miss my evo way to much..
my next car will be upgrading from my 05 8 to a X, simply because i want something just a little bit more comfortable..

Dont feel bad bro.
I dont think its considered downgrading at all.
Who cares if you go from a BMW to a Mitsubishi.
What matters most is if you are happy with your decision.
Lemme tell you this
One of my professors who lives in my area has a 2012 BMW M3 Coupe and a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi.
Its this old guy who is in his mid sixties.
He commutes to school and back everyday as I do and I always seem him on the road going home.
We have super lame traffic here where you are bumper to bumper for at least an hour and the freeway has a ton of cars that leave gaps that can literally fit two to three school buses.
In short, it takes forever to get home and I consider it lucky to leave it in first for more than ten seconds or to shift into second gear.
The thing is, he drives his M3 to school once every 2 months and his Impreza if he doesnt drive the M3.
When I asked why he would rather drive the Impreza instead of the M3, he told me because even though its a pain driving the Impreza in traffic, driving through the winding road after our cutoff makes the drive worth it.
When I asked about him feeling like hes downgraded or something, he just tells me its not a downgrade if he comes home smiling.

Do it again and the next time I see you I'll punch you right in the mouth. Ahhhh blasphemy.
