Rabit... settle down m8. We'll get it figured out. I'm wondering if there's some miscommunication occurring here.

1. MANY Evos will use tuning software to disable the SES light specifically for the rear O2 sensor. Since your car was throwing that code, and you replaced that sensor, and the code is gone. That's one problem fixed.

2. You're saying your light doesn't come on when the car does it's initial check correct? Meaning the key is turned to "on" or "run" but not "start", and you don't see the SES light at all?

If that's the case...

3. You've checked the bulb, and the socket for continuity. You're saying that you know that the bulb is good, and that the socket is getting power. How are you testing this? Reason I ask is because...

A. The cars OBD system seems to be working just fine, because it's popping a code.
B. If the socket is getting power, then why wouldn't the bulb work?

Other than that, I can't find anything in the service manual that would do this. Now, that doesn't mean there isn't something. It just means I'm not looking in the correct place.

I haven't had a tune ever done to my car, but in trying to help this fellow, if the car was tuned to keep the CEL off in regards to the rear O2, would it or would it not light up during the key on bulb check?

It still lights up. Well... at least for me it does. And I know I have a rear O2, and I know I can receive other codes, but not from that O2 sensor...

Rabit... might be worth disconnecting your neg battery cable, and unplugging your crank angle sensor (just behind your cam gear cover), connect up the battery, and crank the motor for a few seconds (it won't start). Then, disconnect the battery, plug the thing back in, connect the battery, and see if it throws the code for that sensor, and if the light comes on?

Alright, i got it fixed. it wasnt the bulb but the bulb did fix the problem. it was the connection between the bulb and the back of the dash where the bulb plugs into. for some reason it looked a little tiny bit more worn out than the rest of the plugs so i used a needle to poke out the 2 little tiny wires on the bulbs themselves.
thanks to everyone for your help.
