Best sounding are ones made with StainlessSteel and is Ceramic coated. Anything Aluminum or TI sounds like crap for a street car. Yes, Loud, but crappy.

Had magnaflow ti ditched that sucker for a hks sport. Sounds very low key and a little more classier IMHO ..

Not to mention there's a 3mo riding back there

For people trying to decide on test pipes I will say that a resonated test pipe will sometimes actually be quieter than a HFC. My 3inch megan test pipe is quieter than my catco 3.5inch HFC that I use to pass emissions. The reason why has to do with laminar vs turbulent flow and reynold's number, etc. But its quieter for sure.

I had the hi power. It wasn't so quiet under almost any condition. And droned on the highway. Maybe the silent power is quieter? I'm not sure I don't think I've ever heard one.

For those that aren't a fan of N1 style mufflers heres what a SS JIC spartan DE with torque solutions urethane bushings (less sag) looks like. You may have to brighten your screen cause the photographer likes exaggerated contrast.

I also painted the rear facing part of the muffler (not the tip) with matte gray paint so it doesn't look like a stupid chrome muffler.

@ Deeman101, the SS JIC Spartan is one of the best sounding exhaust! Also, I rock the megan resonated TP and the Road///Race HFC to pass SMOG or what you call emissions.. The megan sounds deeper for me as well, IMO

The exhaust that came with my car sounds very nice to me. It is an older espilir JGT500, and a espilir JGT500 down pipe. In my opinion it doesn't sound Ricey, it isn't obnoxiously loud, haven't been pulled over once for it in 3 years. Idk how it stacks up against the others performance wise, but since this thread asked specifically for sound I figured I'd throw in my 2 cents.

Btw, friend of mine has the Cobb catback with the map o2 eliminator, and that also sounds pretty damn good.

Any thoughts on the Garage HRS? The few videos I was able to hear it sounds fairly quiet at idle but very throaty. Its a rare one I have been interested in but I wish I could hear more samples other than the few youtube videos of it.

My old setup had the deepest sounding exhaust I heard on an evo in person. It was the kind of deep tone that could set off car alarms, haha. It was a RMR dp, mil spec 100 cell cat, rmr catback. It had a bit of drone on the highway which sort of bugged me, but it was not at all a ricey sounding setup.
