Post Should I make a run of Evo 1-9 pods?

I've been making a-pillar pods for the X for a while now, and sometimes get asked why don't I make them for the 8-9.

That's a good question!

All I do is full replacements, OEM cores, click in/click out installation. I've repaired some 8-9 pillar pod...attempts...but I've never actually produced them.

Should I make a run of pillar pods for the Evo 8/9? I can make single, dual, or triple pods in 52mm, 60mm, or 62mm. Can do black or OEM grey.

If you have the target audience and demand is high... go for it. But I imagine the competition could be brutal.

A dual column pod sure. But Autometers is <40 shipped so you'd need to compete there

A Pillar pods are a ricey eyesore IMO. Just not my thing. To each their own though GL

If you want to corner the market, do sonething like the gruppe-s 3 guage pod that goes where the radio is since they no longer make them...

the ones I make are molded completely into the pillar, not an add-on. Is that how those are?

the idea above was great make gruppe s pods where oem radio goes. the price to get you hands on 1 these days is over $100! so could make fortune, on a side note can you make an ashtray pod?

Yea the ones Ive seen go over the stock A pillar. Never liked any A pillar gauge pods. Like I said I feel they stick out like a sore thumb and look ricey. Just my opinion of course

Freddie have a good call on the radio panel pods as they are not made any longer.

For the 1-9 market, I would keep focused of the Gruppe-S style and where the shifter console is. Possibly even where the cup holder is for those who don't need or care for it. A custom shifter console is more interesting and keep it OEM clean then I'd definitely consider.

Otherwise, as any business, as long as their is a market and profit.

If you made one exactly like the gruppe-s triple pod that replaced the stock radio location, I would indeed purchase.

A-pillar? Not so much. That was circa 2001

I'd have to find some sort of cores for the gruppe-s style ones, those are molded as a single unit it looks like...wonder why they quit making them? Maybe the mold had to get retooled and that's so expensive it's not even worth it.

Here's what I make for X, it's a dual din replacement. That's raw carbon there so yeah, ugly, itchy, and unfinished, but you get the idea

yes, but that's for an X

I'd have to rip up an 8 to see if I could do up/down with them
