I just feel bad for the people on this site that paid over MSRP and tried to justify it last year. I want one but I am waiting to see what the leather seats look like next year. At this point it should just be a 2005.

To an early adopter, paying an addtl grand or 2 for the car is a good trade off if they get to be one of the first to own a car.

January 2004: 360 units sold

Wow, those figures are really grim looking! Overall Mitsubishi sales are down ONE THIRD from last year at this time? Yikes!

(Perhaps last January had some sales bump from zero-percent financing or something?)

Well jan numbers are really not to bad when you consider this is the end of the sales season and some are waiting on the new model and changes. 360 worst sales date still would mean almost 4500 cars a year , granted you would not stay in business with this but its a worst case senario. so if they sold 500 cars for 6months then 360 cars for six months still would total more than 7000 cars for the year. just some quick fiqures.

i got a good deal too
I paid $28,900 for mine (with CF wing, no stupid sunroof). 0.3 miles. It's Irvine, so there's like 12 other EVOs and at least 30-40 WRX/STIs around.

Update - February 2004 numbers:

391 Evos sold in February

Also it looks like there were 24 Evos sold in February of 2003, most likely to members of this forum.
