This is sad, I got caught doin 156, and I thoroughly regret doing that because the insurance and drivers penalty plus the fact that now I'm a dad I will never risk my own life for the sake of my child now.

I got off easy 200 dollar fine

I've also had people run and scream at me for doing 40 mph in second gear. Lots of engine noise does not equal fast.

Sounds like the 'eye witness' freaked out at the fast approaching car and pulled into the lane he was in, causing him to swerve and crash.

This is why you don't fly up on people EVER. Everyone has different reactions and this girl 'letting him by' got him killed.

In any event, terrible for the family. Hope this serves as a reminder to save it for the track.

Should have saved it for the track. Thats what I do. I drive like a grandpa on the streets, plus I want to conserve gas. It's too expensive.

When I was a kid I had a terrifying experience when a woman with a baby carriage ran out in front of me. No need to rehearse the details, but even though I was driving cautiously, not speeding, there was that moment when I was sure that I was going to hit that kid.

As it was, I stopped maybe six inches from that baby carriage. Maybe there wasn't even a baby in it, I do not know but I was shaken up.

I enjoy driving a car. I want to continue to enjoy driving and killing some bystander is likely to ruin driving for me.

Had to been going relatively fast to do that kind of damage, but still sad and sketchy nonetheless

+1 It's nice to get a pull in every once in a while but ALWAYS when no one is around. Too many people on the road it's impossible to be able to predict what every person will do. I can proudly say the fastest I've ever done (118) was on the track after a 1/4 mile pass.

To people who have never been to the track please go. It's tons of fun, no worries about deer, pedestrians, police, other drivers, potholes, etc. Just you and going.

I was thinking the same damn thing.
Feel bad for the family, but when driving at that speed, especially on a public road, you are taking that risk. Life is fragile, and can be gone in a blink of an eye. Drive safely fellas

A situation like this happened to me when i was just a ignorant kid, where I was speeding 150+, I was on a four lane road and the car came from the far left into my lane and I had to swerve to avoid hitting them I lost control and slammed into the median and spun prob 6 times before competing to a stop in the middle of the hwy, I will never forget that night. Btw the guy never stopped to see if I was ok. They kept driving. I did not sustain any injuries but a cut on my finger when I went back into the car looking for my cigarettes. Some one was looking out for me that night. I count my blessings every day. RIP Angel.

Pretty sad that he was only 20 years old. The problem is that people do these kinds of things all the time and we all never think something like this will happen to us but when you see such things it's pretty much a wake up call

So sad for someone so young... It may be fun to get on it every once in a while but you have to be smart about being stupid sometimes.

Kid was only 20 years old... reminds me of when my nephew passed away in a car accident when he was 18 although his accident wasn't related to speeding. Just a sad story... Be careful out there everyone.

I don't want to sound like the old guy since I'm only 27 but its getting sad to see this type I things. 6 days ago this happened close to where I live

http://q13fox.com/2013/08/15/horrifi...#axzz2cZoYkawW

Kid had a 420hp srt4. Personally I think to many young kids are getting onto these fast cars and not thinking how dangerous it can be. I agree with the keeping it at the track. To bad too. cars can be replaced but lives cannot I hope the younger community begins to relize with power comes responsibility
