Evo hibernation

Hello all,

First of all, I'm french so I appologize for my lack of grammar and mistakes in english.

I have been looking around for a "How to hibernate my car for the winter" or something like that, I didnt find anything. Does one exist? If no, do you have any tips?

I am crazy cause it's a winter car, I know.

Do you mean you want to "winterize" it to drive in the winter?

Or are you meaning to put it away in storage and not drive it all winter?

For mine, all I did was put it up on stands put some fuel saver in with the gas, and started it every couple of weeks. I know some do a lot more but it can be simple.

I would recommend jack stands, wheels off, start it occasionally, clean it before storage, unhook battery, and dryer sheets.

The dryer sheets should be tucked in certain spots of the engine bay/exhaust because for some reason mice are deterred by them.

Again, you dont have to do all this stuff but just to be safe those are my recommendations as I am storing mine for the second year this winter.

Aight here are some of my questions..

Where do you store it?
Do you put some kind of "bash" on it?

I thought about putting it in a tempo with a bash on it but I'm scared of humidity..

I can't find any information about it on whe internetz

By "bash" he means car cover, for those who might not get that (which I suspect will be the case for anyone who doesn't speak ).

Heated storage would be even better, but under a shelter with a cover should be fine as well.

hahaha thanks!

Won't the humidity get into a closed shelter and even more into the car cover?

I stored mine in an insulated garage up in Northern Michigan last year uncovered without issue (I really slacked last year)

This year it will have a waterproof cover on it (Bash). In my buddy's garage in Lansing, Michigan. I really would not worry about having it in a heated garage personally, but I am sure it gets much colder up there than it does down in Michigan. If you have the money to spare and want to be safe, go ahead and get a heated unit. But I think it would be fine uncovered as long as you go and start it up every week or two during the winter as I did.

Also, I am no expert here. So don't take my advice as 100%. I am just stating what worked for me

Here is my idea...

I think about putting a waterproof bash directly on the floor. Then, a wood floor home made. The car will be jacked on that floor. It will have a car cover. All of this will be in a closed shelter.

Will wax it and clan it,
change oil
almost full gaz with stabilizer
remove battery

That should be sufficient. I do not see the need for a wood floor, but if you would like to do that, feel free!

Make sure you take your rims off and also start it occasionally then your plan should be set!
