Electrical Problem After Crazy Rain Storm

A few days ago we suffered a brutal rain storm that I drove to work through. As i was driving my windshield wipers suddenly got really slow and my lights went very dim. After a while my gauges would start to die out and I noticed my afr's shooting pretty lean. I swapped out the battery since the car wouldn't start and its happening again. The battery light and Brake light on the gauge cluster are stuck on. I'm thinking that some water splashed up from a couple deep puddles that i had to drive through and shorted out the alternator. Could that be possible?

Search electrical gremlins on here and you will find numerous threads on this topic. IIRC there is a bulk of wires and connections that run by the driverside door/kickpanel which are notorious for corroding in the wet and causing erratic electrical issues.

Could still be an alternator issue but I'd still check the junction block if I were you.

If the battery and brake lights are on, it is the alternator that needs replacement.
