New Evo VIII owner..help with rough idle.
+1 on that^, this has happend to me many of times, or vacuum leak? theres alot of dumb vacuum lines for the EGR system behind intake manifold. air in coolant will do it too. and MAFs are spendy, so id try everything else first. if non of that fixes it, could be the sign of a weak fuel pump aswell, too bad you didnt have a wideband to tell us what your A/f ratio was doing
good luck

good luck

Here is a video I took of the idle. In it i turn the AC on and off. AC idles much worse and you can hear a vibrating noise. Non-AC doesn't make noise just rough with a miss here or there. Part of the vibration noise is the phone on the steering wheel vibrating.
Also here is a video of a track day a few weeks back with me chasing my brothers CTS-V. Doesn't seem like I have any power loss. Drives normal...

Are you in CO? Looks like high plains.
I bought my car from IL and it ran ok when I first got it. I did some upgrades and had it tuned and it ran so much smoother. Not saying this is your problem but I do notice my car will sometimes randomly drop rpms at idle, and I have stock cams. Good luck.

it will tell you which cylinder is misfiring. my car threw a p0300 code, which is the misfire code, which was caused by my cams. if it threw a different number at the end then i would have worried, but i knew my cams caused the code
thats an odd rough idle, does look like a vacuum leak or air in coolant to me. does it only do it when the AC is on? or all the time? if its only with the Ac the sketchy rough idle is normal. or it was with my car anyways

Well it was just barely noticeable with AC off before but since I cleaned the ISCV and sprayed the throttle body down with some carb cleaner is runs rough all the time. Not sure if it was a coincidence or i messed something up...
Do not start throwing parts at it. Do not replace the MAF sensor just because. I don't see how air in the cooling system will cause a rough idle...? Pull a spark plug and inspect the condition of them. Diagnose this thing properly. Don't waste money and dart parts.
-Spark plugs changed. They looked normal.
-Compression 145 across the board.
-ISCV cleaned. Seemed to function fine. No carbon buildup.
-Recirculated throttle body to EGR vacuum lines.
- Maf cleaned.
-Visually inspected timing belt.
-Visually inspected vacuum lines.
-Reset ECU.
-Mixed in a few gallons of E85 per tank to try and clean out any fuel line gunk.
The only lead I have found so far is that after I cleaned the ISCV and sprayed some cleaner into the throttle body the issue has gotten worse. I noticed that a tiny bit of the black ring on the manifold side of the TB started to run. Don't know if this made the issue worse or could it be an issue with the ISCV or TB?
So you had a random misfire code...At one point I had the same. One of my wires for one of the coil packs was not firing all the time.. Now it only set off a code once. But the misfire could be felt in the gas pedal ( for me) and certainly accounted for a rough idle and lack of power , as it was hitting every few cycles. Start the car and check the plugs for fire--it will idle smoothly, so no rock but will have a weak spark or none at all---you will here it when you pull the coil.. I have spark tech so a little easier to diagnose.
