What's with the Sti getting car of the year in R&T? They so didn't even mention the Evo, which won nearly every fair fight against the Sti it was in. I know they will say that the Evo is technically a 2003, but that means it wasn't available for last year's contest and not elegible for this year's...R&T is such a piece of crap...
R&T's GLOWING review of the G35 is one of the reasons I bought one...look at my profile to see how that turned out!

haha I don't know, that makes no sense because the Evo won the comparison between the two cars. It was only by a slight margin, and the price is really what put the Evo ahead in the end but still.... oh well, we all know who really deserves car of the year.
over the years
ok,ok,
I 'used' to read R&T in HS over lunch in the library (not much food was needed for my fat belly then) but I've noticed that R&T really doesn't 'explain' a lot of their rating systems. They have a hard time finding good 'justifications' from their tests. I think over the years, they're are a lot more 'attitude' factors that determine the awards R&T gives out.
In all, I don't like R&T anymore.
BTW the EVO 2004 did win Automobile Mag. car of the year. Considering that Automobile is more of an 'international' mag, rating cars across a wider driving 'range' the EVO is given a better 'chance.'
My 0.02 in whichever currency you like.

well i'd rather read R&T then Car and Driver. If a car doesn't have a BMW emblem on it in C&D it won't likely get an award. Look at the Viper. Heck for a car that C&D used in all their handling tests, and against a motorcycle, it never won an award from them. It shouldn't matter to anyone if the EVO receives high praise from some of the more popular magazines, because that isn't what makes the car truly popular (Look how much they salivated over the SVT Focus, now it's going out of production). most mags are paid by their advertisers, and of course their subscription. Next time you pick up a C&D mag look at how many BMW ads are in it.

Most of the times I see a review where they rated the STi over the Evo is because of the comfort and interior looks.
Then I look at the pictures of the testers and everything is clear.
They even admit they became too old for the Evo and have gained few extra pounds.
I give them credit for that tho... who knows how I'm gonna be then.

I think the readers choose the 5 cars for the comparison if I remember correctly. Did anyone see the TV show on speed? I think that is where I picked up this info. I don't remember how they picked a winner though. Anyone?
personally i just think R&T doesnt like mitsu cause i barely seen any coverage on any mitsu cars. on the other hand i see subaru everywhere. so basically i can care less what they write about. every thing in the world is biased
