Evo IX shift knobs

Hi guys

I'm new to the scene.

id like to change the EVO IX shift knob to something better than the OEM factory item.

the problem is that I've found a lot of the Ralliart ones look very plain (just round in metallic, white, black etc.)

and personally i do not like the thin style cylindrical looking ones.

Basically I'm after something more prestigious and heavy looking. (like an R34 GT-R knob, with leather and aluminium).

Firstly, can anyone here give me some other suggestions?

secondly, I've noticed the EVO X alloy knob looks decent, But i am unsure whether the threads are the same on the gear stick.

can someone shed some light here?

Thanks in advance.

There are tons of shift knobs out there. I like the clean look of the oem knob. My leather one is getting some wear on it so I've been eyeballing this guy.

If you buy a shift knob, get a very heavy weighted one. You will thank me later. I chose flossy heavyweight grip tape or whatever it's called and I love it... So doe my transmission

I can't stand the heavy shift knobs, I switched from the heavy aluminum MR knob to a lightweight leather one. No more scortched hand in the summer and no more bruised palm haha

Bruised palm? How do you shift? Heavy knobs make shifting easier, I ditched the lightweight AMS knob for a heavy one and I'm pissed I ever bought the AMS in the first place

I have the one pictured & personally like it. It is cold in winter & hot in summer, but that just makes me shift faster.

As far as weight goes, it is slightly heavier than stock but there are heavier knobs out there. (Did you just smile at the phrase heavier knobs? Good.)

Heavy aluminum?? The MR knob is light as hell. It does get hotter than all hell during the summer, though I blame that on the machined aluminum. I chose a flossy heavyweight knob as well, and it's great. The coating keeps it from getting to hot in the summer, feels better in the hand, and shifting is smooth as butter with the added weight.

I personally love this Greddy shift knob, Nice and heavy (although does burn or freeze the hand depending on weather haha). I'm not sure they make this anymore though, but figured it might give you an example of a good looking heavy shift knob. Was cheap at the time I bought it too (about 5-6 years ago).

I personally bought the BLOX weighted neo chrome knob. It is quite heavy but it makes quick shifts easy and the weight gives it a more precise and silky smooth movement with little effort.

On hot sunny days I drape a small microfiber cloth overtop of it and it doesn't get hot.

I can't remember the thread pitch off the top of my head but you can get them on ebay.

Check out BuyBlackline's Titanium Shift knob. It's much heavier than the OEM shift knob and it looks amazing, the finish is gorgeous. I personally have the matte titanium finish on my Evo IX SE. Check them out, you won't be disapointed.

I highly recommend checking out http://www.lathewerks.com/shop/
I have an extension and knob from him. Being able to purchase a knob customized exactly the way you want, and in the material you want, is the best thing in my opinion. Why settle for pre-made sizes/shapes/colors/etc, when you can have what you really want?

Do you have these same style knobs BUT not in steal
Preferably a durable polished plastic?
It's cold where I live and that steal knob sitting over night in zero below temps is a no go.

I have the same one. It's great other than the freezing and burning problems. The weighted shift knobs make such a difference.
