Help needed - Muse FMIC or VRSF FMIC
Well, fwiw I know first hand that the intercooler pipes alone will not support the intercooler at all. The only way they have a chance is if the licp is still using the oem support mount as well.
Im interested in a 4inch with the new core.. I was thinking about a br race, or ets 4 inch ONLY because they have proven data. If you can make a revised 4 inch core / have data to back it up and sell it at a great price, ill be the first one to buy it..
The two support tabs that are included do the majority of supporting, the intercooler pipes just prevent the FMIC from moving forward and backwards.
danggg, ive been thinking of getting one of these too =\ but now i might just have to get the ETS. how is it performance wise though??? because i could just tig weld a top bracket on this if the performance is decent.
Update: I replaced the VRSF IC since I couldn't get it to fit without serious modification despite what Tiago says. The ETS 3.5" IC was plug and play; fitment was perfect. As an added bonus they supplied spacers which VRSF doesn't, this saves an unnecessary trip to the hardware store.
I've had the ETS IC on the car for a few months and the figment and performance are top notch. The extra $50 for ETS is totally worth it in my book.

Ive gotten 4 vrsf cores from tiago non with issues....spacers are 5 bucks...its a 350 usd core vs 600 for an ets...have worked great and could increase timing by as much as 3* on some cars......the last core came with spacers I noticed though.....but to me its no biggie buying spacers
Ive also owned 2 ets core...and the vsrf core has held its own.....

When I read the title my first thought was, "why not just get one from ETS or AMS?" After reading the thead I thought, "I'm so glad my AMS intercooler fits perfectly withough any of this BS." Three mounting points, perfect fitment' clears the crash bar without issue, doesn't require spacers. It's wonderful what a proper application of basic engineering can accomplish.
