Hey EVO driver......
Im will gettin EVO 8 soon and i want know what u used gas put in EVO? unlead regular, plus, permium?
I heard they say only Permium Gas only on EVO??
that true?
thanks!
Ok...as stated you MUST use PREMIUM...preferably 93 octane...but if you are in an area that only has highest of 91 octane...that is what you must use. You can NOT use regular gas. The higher the octane rating the better for your car when it comes to NORMAL gas. Less knock and detanation...and also slightly better power. Just to let ya know...your probably gonna be flamed for your use of poor english

I never run anything lower than 92 octane. 98% of the places in St. Louis have 93 including the QT by my house so that's what I usualy go with. I can't believe you Cali guys are getting the 91 shaft. I've never had anything lower than 92 in any car I've ever owned.
I just filled gas for my Evo $2.55 a gallon, if you don't belive me I can take a picture of the gas price out side on the gas station sign. Again like he said, that is the price of livving in Southern California....and La Jolla in particular
San Francisco is about the worst place for an Evo. with higher gas prices, higher insurance, nothing but stop signs and hills, higher living expenses, higher taxes to name a few.
One day, I need to buy a hybrid as a second car.

Wow, $2.55, that sucks. What really blows is that that's not the worst I've heard. It's the same thing with cigarettes too. Name brands are like $3.25 a pack here, but I heard in NY and some other places they can get over $6. Of course I never smoke in my car but I gotta quit anyway.
From the manual:
The 2.0L model is designed to operate on unleaded
gasoline having a minimum octane rating of 87
[(MON + RON)/2], or 91 RON.
NOTE: .
• MON: Motor Octane Number
• RON: Research Octane Number
Things do run better when using higher octane fuel (98 RON or 92-94 [R+M]/2), but it is not required. If you like having the timing pulled to keep things OK with 87, then go for it. I, however, will choose to spend the extra two or three bucks per fill-up.
