Should I replace my 02 housing heat shield?

In a few weeks coming up im going to be doing an evo IX turbo swap onto my 8. If I remember correctly my bolts on my 02 housing heat shield are stripped. How necessary is it to put a new one on, and where should I be looking to buy one?

you should probably upgrade your o2 housing to an o2 dump or larger o2 housing while you're doing the swap!

Your OEM O2 housing heat shield won't fit the Invidia anyway. I had my Invidia coated with SwainTech (White Lightning) to reduce heat radiation in the engine bay. And yes, there is a noticeable difference.

My car was missing one when i purchased it…

does anyone know where you can get one from?

Im guessing aftermarket o2 housings do not use the stock shield?

as mentioned, I don't think majority of aftermarket Dumps have the screws for the shield.

The shield is really there to stop radiating heat to the radiator right?
