Looking for help on an Evo xiii
Looking for help on an Evo viii
Hello everyone, first time poster here. Ive been looking to own my first evo, and I found one close to me for sale on autotrader. Here is the link
http://m.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=354372213&numRecord s=1&firstRecord=1&zip=32811&searchType=both
My questions are
As experienced Evo owners, what are your thoughts on the mods installed? The seller told me the mods were done by S&D motorsports, Liberty 1, and AWD motorsports. If you guys think the mods seem legit, what price would you pay for this car? And as far as performance, do any of the mechanical mods compromise any of the original capabilities like handling?
Thanks in advance for any help.

i personally think he is full of crap with having that much work done and never "abused" it. im sure its been raced around quite a bit but as long as he can provide documentation on everything done to the car it is a good deal for the mileage and what hes asking.
others to lazy to look its a 03 rally red gsr with 38k miles and a **** load of mods

I would say it has def been abused but that is low miles. Your best bet is to get somebody that is evo savy like myself to go look at it with you. Somebody that knows how to work on cars and that has owned a evo for a few years. I have had 2 for a total of 6 years and would pick up things quick. This is a heavily modified car for your first car. You won't know where to begin if anything goes wrong and will be charged an arm and a leg for somebody else to figure it out. U gotta have some deep pockets too cause if something goes like the turbo or anything ur looking at a few thousand dollars of repairs where as a stockish evo you can get turbo's n stuff on here for dirt cheap.

dont go by the miles on a evo just because it has low miles doesnt mean its good, and with those mods those 38k have been hard. i rather get a high millage evo with less mods do all the maint. on it and know everything was done
dont rush man...im in FL aswell and it took me 5 months to find my evo, alot were in accidents or come from up north. I was lucky to find my evo with a clean tittle no accident always a FL car just be patient
I dont necessarily agree with this "dont buy a built evo" mantra. I bought my evo with a fully built motor with 71k on the chassis and have had no issues with her at all. "Knock on wood" however I can do 99% of my own maintence but still not every car with a built motor should be passed on.
Did you get the car yet? Evo VIIIs and IXs are much more raw and feel lighter. Evo Xs are a little more grown up, a little slower but easier to work on IMO. I own both Evo 9 and Evo X and this is just my experience.
No I didnt, it did not feel like a good buy. I put a deposit on an X but its refundable so Im not committed. Its such a hard decision to make honestly. The X provides a much better DD but the viiis and ix are so cool and iconic its hard to pass one up if the situation presents itself.
