Spun another bearing.

Lost oil pressure on my morning commute, the sound of knocking alerted me
This motor only has about 2-3k on it, last time it did this I just had the crank reground and new bearings installed. I'm feeling like the car is cursed at this point.

Options:
1) Rebuild the 2.0l, go back to stock, sell it, get another Evo that I trust more.
2) Go big, build a 2.3 and hope for the best
3) Cut my losses and sell it/part it out

If you have gone through something like this before please chime in, my car is just sitting outside making me depressed.

I say a 2.4 build. Blocks are cheaper and you can build it strong. That way you won't have to use any of that bottom end that scares you

I would figure out what went wrong to begin with and salvage anything undamaged and try again with the setup you had.

Thanks for the replies, I guess I am going to start with cracking this motor open and seeing what can in fact be salvaged, and let that decide between a fresh 2.0l or 2.4

Any recommendations on a place to start looking for a bargain 2.4 to start working with if need be?

did you replace your oil cooler last time you spun a bearing? if not then that probably caused your 2nd failure.

I did a similar rebuild with a 2.4 and my fp black. Lots of $ and time later, I'm very happy. I do know where you're coming from, I had a lot of stupid issues that still pop up. I could own a 10 by now....good luck

****ty luck man but if I were you I would go to someone new if you havent already Engines typically just dont spin rod bearings after 2 to 3 k on them Poor workmanship or incorrect assembly is probably the issue

It is not cursed as other said it was improperly built judging by your first post

If you are still looking to "cut corners" to get it running I suggest parting the car out now and cutting your losses as you stated

My history with this platform is shorter then some but I've gone through alot more then most. 1) figure what went wrong on the this time. 2) If you are building consider the fact that you may need to have someone with impeccable credentials build it, something your doing may not be right.
3) like has been said.......dont cut corners.

Let us know what went wrong if you can figure it out.
