It really just seems like you mostly just need tires, no need to sell the car just for that. Fix the rest of the stuff when things look better. The evo will be fine until then.
235-45-17. I have pilot super sports right now and love them. Had star specs prior, but these are better all around for me. Better tread life, and performance is still great. What are some things I can do to extend the life of my acd? I replaced it in 2010 about 40K miles ago. Again, the lights have only flicked on and off a couple of times. I am hoping its something simple.

I say keep it and try to work the money out if you can, I understand if it ends up not being able to. Bought my evo last September and it has 105k on it and I got hit hard. Had a tick noise come from the head and it wasn't the lifters, I tried that first so had to get the head rebuilt so went with a Buschur head. Then right after that my clutch started slipping and then poof went out bad. So obviously I opted for the twin disc might as well put the best in right.

Now what saved me is I did the installs myself doing that will save a ton in labor. Hell the head called for around 8 hrs of labor and 10 hrs on the clutch.

But yes you have some maintainance coming up but if your clutch isn't slipping on you yet I wouldn't worry about it to much but definitely don't rec racing or dig launching it.

I think you have time with your issues, get a budget worked up and start putting aside money when and where you can. Just be nice to your evo and she will be nice to you.

here a quick question what time of year does the light fickler, because depending on the season/weather you may get the flicker for example, in the summer the oil get hot and very thin, which can cause the light to flicker because the computer thinks there low fluid, in the winter the oil is thick and you might not get the flicker, it depends but there any other thing that can cause the problems too that just one of them

I'm in this same boat, thinking about selling my '06 MR with 50k miles and getting a dedicated DD and a real weekend only fun car like an elise/exige.

I'm in the same boat right now, I think I'm leaning towards selling for a more luxury oriented car because of everyday work traffic. The Evo is great mine doesn't have problems like the OP. It's just a waste of an Evo sitting in traffic everyday :-(
You are a blithering idiot. I have near 120K on mine and have never had to do anything save for routine maintenance. I did have the clutch replaced due to beating on it but that's it. If you take care of it they will run for a long time. There is a poster on here Ferrari tech I believe is his SN. His car has close to 400K so a lot of problems I think not.

If you beat the hell out of it and don't take care of it for sure. You are way off base if you do what's required it will last a long time.

Oh and FWIW OP keep your car you won't regret it later on.

It just happened a few times this past month. Each time it was hot and after I was driving for a while.

What are you going to get after you sell it? That's a problem I am having with selling. I could get a boring, safe, inexpensive car, but that just sounds horrible. If I go for anything with a performance base, it will cost me in maintenance as well. So, right now, I am leaning towards keeping it. I will probably put like 2 to 3K in maintenance this year and 2 to 3K next year. Car won't lose much value in depreciation. And I get to drive an awesome car. It will be hard to match that I think.

If you can afford it, buy a cheap beater like an old civic. It'll use half as much gas as your evo and you can put the gas savings towards fixing up your evo.

I did it about 6 years ago and I still daily drive my old civic, turning 310k today. I have a 70 mile round trip commute so the gas savings is over $150/month for me. Maintenance on the civic costs pennies compared to the evo and it's painfully easy to work on.

My evo sits in the garage and only gets used for fun. I couldn't imagine selling it, I'd never find another one that wasn't beat to crap.

You'll only regret selling it.... lots of guys i know ended up getting another evo again be it a X or another IX.

I regret selling my S2000.... that is just about the only car i can say that i truly miss.

The EVO i contemplated on selling but i don't think there is another car out there that can satisfy me the way my Evo does.
