run into Invidia o2 housing issue.

Hi Guys,

hmmm I need a few ideas…

(I'm sure many people here have Invidia o2 Housing for the IX, and i have read at some point that the brass doughnut causes issues)

So far my dilemma is, that the brass doughnut provided by invidia is

noticeable smaller than the OEM doughnut.

The down pipe equipped is a generic / garage named brand…

(i understand that "turbo XS downpipes is said not to be compatible with invidia o2)

anyhow, this Downpipe was compatible with the OEM dump / O2, with the OEM doughnut.

(see pics)

as you can see the clearance is close to none. and would probably have a gap, by the time the spring bolts are tightened all the way.

What were the the things that some of you guys have done to rectify this?

the old OEM doughnut looks like its days have been numbered…

I'm thinking of possibly buying a new OEM doughnut and give it a try with
the invidia.

cheers guys, have a good weekend.

I've not got any good news. Had the same issue with a invidia O2 housing and a locally made 3" stainless downpipe. I tried everything to get it to fit and seal correctly but had no luck. I ended up buying a invidia downpipe and everything worked perfectly (no surprise there I guess). Sometimes it just not worth struggling to get a part to fit, just save your time, and sanity, and buy a fix.

So does the Invidia front pipe, clear the two OEM under-body struts?

ie, they don't require removing?

That's got a lot to do with the rest of your exhaust and how tight it is up against the the underside of your car...but....on mine the front brace is spaced with about 2cms of washers and longer bolts, the back brace has about 1cm of washes but probably doesn't need them.

So you had to lower these two struts?

(this is just a pic i found online. it appears that the front one was left OFF, I'm guessing the guy had issues.)

My Invidia O2 housing and brass doughnut fit my Cobb downpipe with no problems. If I remember correctly, the downpipe came with an Evo OEM gasket, but I used the Invidia doughnut because the Evo OEM will not fit the Invidia O2 housing. Never had a leak, or other issue in eight years. I do recall that a few different brand downpipes didn't play well with the Invidia O2. The Cobb DP came with spacers (washers) for the struts.

Back when I bought the Invidia O2, it took more than four months to get a spare brass doughnut!

The only down pipes that work with the invidia down pipe are invidia, Perrin and Cobb.
