Evo that has been sitting for a year
Currently wanna know whats the value for an Evo 8 that's been sitting for a year. It has problems, and needs maintenance work. I understand they won't be releasing anymore Evos after 2015 so maybe that could add value to them down the line?
2003 with about 115k miles. It was stored outside. It starts up but the stock intake manifolds heat up. I think it needs a new radiator and wondering maybe if that could be the reason why it heats up.
2003+115k miles+stored outside for a year+needs some level of work=not taken care of IMO. I'd pass on it unless you have disposable income and can get it for a bargain or you can take on a project. Really the miles wouldn't scare me, but with it left outside, that does. And you say you're East Coast, so depending where, like northern East Coast, probably seen some salt from the winter previous to sitting. Any rust on it?

Not on the outside on the body, but some on certain parts inside the motor. The problems are as follows. -May need a new headgasket. -Needs a new radiator. -Needs all oils to be flushed. -Needs a new tune. -Needs a wheel alignment. -Needs new brake and ebrake pads. -Idles very low.
I would say doing the work yourself your looking at ~$2500. That's being on the safe side incase something else comes up and you might as well replace the timing belt, water pump and balance shaft belt too. How come it needs a new head gasket? Is anything warped?
I haven't checked, and honestly I'm inexperienced with automotive repairs. I will have to send it to a professional for further inspection but thanks, I appreciate all the help so that I could at least have an idea what kind of problems the car has.
It's a pearl white evo, there are purple tints when the sun shines on it but its hard to tell in the picture. I'm just debating whether or not I should fix it up and keep or sell it as is with a reasonable price.
