Cosworth air filter

Tried searching for this but could only find info for the X. I was wondering if anyone has used a cosworth drop in for their IX. Is it comparable to the K&N?

I used one for a while. Its a quality piece. Your not gonna really gain power from it though. I switched back to a napa gold/stp/ or whatever. The stock style ones are all the same really, at least from my dyno experience. I making 340 hp/350 ft lbs on stp brand oem style air filter, best part is it only cost me $9.

So you dont even think theres much difference between a cosworth, k&n, and one of those cheap 10 dollar ones?

for a straight drop in filter that goes into the oem airbox, NO. The cosworth and oem are better than K&N as they are dry and no issues about the oil getting into the maf and what not. The cheap ten dollar ones are getting the job done for me, good filtration and making decent power out of them. Between an oem, Cosworth, and an auto parts brand filter, I noticed no difference in power. I can replace my filter 5 times for the cost of one cosworth. If you look at the filters they really all are the same, except the cosworth has a really cool blue color to it, if you care to show it off. MAYBE, in a perfect environment you will pick up 2-3hp up top on the dyno, but that is something you will never notice or feel driving your car anyways, so save your money.

you might as well ditch the air box setup if you plan on going over 400hp
