Who did the installs?

Not shifting into 3rd is a good sign that it wasn't adjusted or installed correctly. That would cause the failing within 5k miles and having it happen 4 different times is pretty big red flag also.

Back in my DSM days I bought a XTD stage 3 clutch for my 91 talon The clutch splines were not machined properly and would not slide over the input shaft.

2 years on a "stage 2" comp clutch, hd pressure plate with a sprung hub disc and its held fine. Been bolt ons with e85 for a year of that. I get a little chatter but nothing to crazy. If you drive like an adult with the occasional spirited driving then go for it but if you want to beat the **** out of it then go with something high end like a twin disc of some sort. Everything on this car can break if you treat it like ****

The only thing on eBay that I still use is a test pipe.

I've installed 5 comp clutches ranging from stage 1 to 4.

The stage 2 is my favorite, feels like stock but holds a nice amount of power

I used a action clutch on my evo this last go around. I used 2 acts before that.i took a risk with them cause my last act failed out the blue with no warning and I needed to get my wife on the road asap.there clutch hasn't let me down yet.i have maybe 8-10k miles on it.no launches but gets the job done at wot. think I paid 375 shipped for it.
I follow them on instagram and the process they follow and the materials they use are top notch too.

I second this! I have been through multiple comp clutches and i have a $1300 paper weight i got from them (long story). The best clutch I have found is a 6 puck sprung hub act the torque of the 2.4 breaks the springs in alot of clutches

Alright for anyone that hasn't had experience with these the stage 1, 2, and 3 are all garbage and not worth the materials they are made of. They use a stock pressure plate and have issues with the springs coming undone. For the stage 4, it uses a 2300lb pressure plate and is an unsprung clutch. I made over 424awhp on my 95 talon 2 years ago and never once had an issue with the clutch. They are made of some ceramic material so they actually start to grip more the harder you get on them because the clutch gets hot. These are a decent clutch for someone around the <450 horsepower range. They are easy to deal with, and carry a 1 year warranty on their clutches. If/when my clutch fails, this is what will be going in to replace it. Great pedal feel and great longevity. DO NOT USE THEIR THROW OUT BEARING (TOB) AND DO NOT GET A STAGE 1, 2 OR 3 CLUTCH KIT. Also make sure to only get the unpsrung clutches.

I've had a Comp stage 4 single disc clutch which I bought from e-Bay. Never had any problems.

lmao unsprung sucks *** I have an act 6 puck sprung hub in my 98 gsx and its awesome. Unsprung hubs are for race cars only and there a pita to drive in traffic. I went with the full face disc in my 3g with the evo trans and I dont like it as much as the 6 puck. Ive tested and broken atleast 5 different clutches. The best ones I found are the rre noname and act clutches.
