Which upgrade path to follow?

I know there are no definitive answers out there to this question, only opinions, but I'd like to know what people think.

I want to start upgrading my evo. I live in sac. I'm no mechanic or tuner wannabe, I just like driving the car. My evo is my daily driver, but I'd like to take it to the track one day. I want to follow someone's staged upgrade path as I believe for someone like me, I'm better off using one system as opposed to buying a bunch of different add ons and hope that the combination of stuff works. I would like to upgrade the ecu, improve the intake and outflow systems on the car, and eventually futz around with ways of (effectively) boosting octane, like race gas mixes, toluene/xylene, or water injection. I am leaning towards Vishnu, but like Works too (both are in calif.). I'm also looking at Bushur. I like the vishnu ecu upgrades (xede / xflash) but also like Bushur's outflow / exhaust system (light weight and very straight compared to vishnu).

Aah... so many decisions... What do you guys think?

You'll a good kick in the butt from a full exhaust & piggyback. So just pick a shop you are cool with and get it. If you don't like to tinker you could get by with a full exhaust and a flash, and save a few bucks too. If price is a concern there are always people switching up there combo's and selling thier exede's or AFC's. You should also consider some gauges to monitor the situation...

Living where you do it would be crazy to not get the EXEDE and have Shiv tune it his dyno. You can of course go with any exhaust you want. I have the full Vishnu stage 1+ on my car (with the standard dump back exhaust) and just love everything about it including the sound of the not too noisy exhaust. Better drivability, gas mileage and of course tons of torque and power (you can have your cake and eat it too )

So, I like the bushur system - seems to have the fewest bends etc. If you look at the Works website one of their points is that a dynometer is an artificial environment and they say one of the advantages of their P2 reflash is that it has extensive "real world" testing.

Is it possible that if I got the Burshur exhaust system and xede/xede flash etc, that in the "real world" my setup would not perform well except under the exact conditions it was dyno'd on?

You are just making this more complicated then it needs to be. Buy the buschr exhaust, get the Vishnu ECU upgrade. Take your car to Vishnu Tuning and have it tuned by Shiv. I am sure you won't be disappointed.
