Today while taking in parts my head on 1 of the studs broke free and stripped the threads in the block ( yes i couldnt believe it ) I had an issue getting the stud out at first and had to chase the threads, so I am guessing when they came out the threads were alittle messed up. What can i do now helicoil or time-insert any recommendetion car will made over 750 next time. I will appreciate your help guys

 

Don't like that helicoil on boost , I would re-taper it.

 

tap block for 1g studs. very nice upgrade

 

I would go to a larger diameter stud.


what diameter are the 1g studs?

 

evo is 11mm
1g is 12mm
the head would need to be drilled as well. but that is easy part. tapping block in car will be a task.

 

Not big deal engine us out the car and standing in an engine stand.
Any experience out there using 1/2 inch bolts??
