Help with buying an evo
read the description lol the guy claimed it was a clean title with no dings or scratches. The second one is an ix that looks to be in great condition going for 10k, Everything about the ad is too good to be true. Every single evo I've seen going for 10k is in VERY bad condition. Basically good for parts only. The entire website op is using looks very shady. I'd stay away from it.
I don't see anywhere that claims its a clean title. Someone run the VIN if possible. http://www.carsforsale.com/used-cars...o-oh-237755647
Before you buy any used car, you should get a P.P.I. ( Pre-Purchase inspection) done by either a 3rd party dealer, or a shop that specializes in that type of car. Anything less is a gamble. If the owner doesn't want to have the car inspected then that is a huge red flag and your sign to run away.

I don't see why people are so quick to dismiss the possibility that it is legit. The asking price is higher than the average for a 2003 Evo VIII in that zip code

I know we all like to think our Evos are priceless. But the true market value of a 2003 VIII is not what you think it is.

also please dont look at nada or any book value when determining value of our cars or any higher end import. Book value doesn't take into consideration if a car will be a classic one day, performance or rarity. The m3 e30 spec is booked at $10k for mid to high mileage fair condition. when in reality they go from between 20-35k. Book value doesn't mean **** when it comes to performance cars. Go on some other forums, do some research on other cars and youl see we arnt the only ones with bs book values..

The first car is in AZ. Look at the background in the pics. Does that look like Ohio?
And did you not see the second link I posted either for the second car?
Both of those cars are legitimately being sold by the people who posted the ads that I listed. And they've been for sale for a while.
OP
That car is also listed here at a more believable price:
http://cars.yakaz.com/2003-evo-8#lo=...08ub2mtf68765k
Its also listed as being in AZ, and you can see the AZ plates.
If you're concerned about the legit-ness of a sale, you can use google chrome for help.
Right click on the image and select "search google for this image" If you get a ton of hits, its probably not an original posting and is a fake ad.
