Poll: Age display on forum

I brought up in site feedback section that I'd like to see a display of members' ages, such as where is says how long they've been a member, etc. I was told to make a poll. I'm putting it here for more exposure.

My justification was I've seen it be a positive on many other forums; makes things a bit more mature and keeps things more realistic, especially when people are looking for feedback or suggestions.

Anyway, please make your vote, and feel free to leave a response with feedback on why you do or don't like the idea. I'm positive your opinion will be taken by the Admin.

Whats the point in displaying your age? Sounds a bit too personal. How about my SSN, mothers maiden name & home address

It really doesnt matter as a lot of online bio is not correct anyhow

yeah, I'm from the same boat as you on personally identifiable information. Not looking to display birthdays, just age.

Me personally I could care less whether or not someone knows my age. The catargorized age groups isn't a bad idea either.

Age:

16 - 19: Evolving
20 - 29:
30 - 39:
40 - 49:
50 - 59: Distinguished
60 & up: Evolved

This is what I came up with so far. Anyone feel free to think of three creative names for the other three sections.

kind of big age gaps...20 year old and 29 year olds are much different in maturity(well, they should be atleast).

Age is fine. Would like to see time spent on the board itself.

IME with a similar dynamic, some will lie - perhaps 10-15% - but most folks are honest. It's really not difficult to identify a kid full of crap. Once it's done, we can safely discount everything he posts. If the community supports the action, such events will decrease in frequency over time.
