Triple gauge pod conundrum
Triple gauge pod conundrum
So I need input or advise on what I should do with my gauges. I currently have the Gruppe-S 52mm center bezel gauge pod. I have the bits for a double din conversion and I don't know where to put the existing gauges. I'm not really a fan of mounting them in the steering wheel so that's out of the question. I have a 52mm hacked up A pillar pod in my garage, or I could do something like the rexspeed on dash mount.
I guess it boils down to A pillar and mounting them to the top of the dashboard. Not really thrilled about both. :/ is there anywhere else I could put them? I don't really look at the gauges, more so for troubleshooting and I have AEM boost, oil pressure, and AFR wired into the ECU to read in EvoScan

May I suggest a glove box gauge pod? I think they are usually for Subaru's but I've seen people fit them into Evo's no problem. This should be a good solution as it is out of the way and you only have to look at them if you want to.
This is of course if you do not use your glove box (which most people really don't)

I think pillar pods are weak sauce. I have the gruppe S 60mm gauge pod and love it. My next option would be the rexspeed dash mount. Even though you don't view them a lot, it's still in your field of vision. That's 2 yen though.
I glance at them from time to time I think just because they're infront of me. I use my glove box so that's out of the question. I was thinking about doing the AFR inside the gauge cluster and doing a steering wheel mount for the other 2.
Or
Possibly doing the rexspeed triple dash mount. That might be my best bet, I'm not really a fan of steering wheel gauges either. I think they look too tacky.
